NY remote job, part-time, 20 hr/ wk Medical Peer Reviewer position

APS Healthcare, partnering with Thomson Reuters, has been selected by the New York State Department of Health to manage the state's Medicaid clinical best practices utilization review program. This program examines how Medicaid patients utilize medical services and explores patterns of potentially unnecessary care and opportunities for improving patient safety or quality of care. The results of sophisticated analytics will be provided to physicians and clinics to enhance the opportunity to improve clinical outcomes. The project leverages the clinical and behavior change expertise of APS Healthcare and the unique analytic and predictive modeling capabilities of the Thomson Medstat Advantage Suite. The project will review the healthcare services delivered to three million fee-for-service Medicaid patients.

APS Healthcare is seeking a part-time, 20 hour/week Medical Peer Reviewer to represent APS and the program externally to the medical and business communities both statewide and nationally. This position can be remotely based and will require travel within up state New York to complete provider outreach. There will also be travel for meetings in our White Plains office on occasion. Hours can be flexible dependent on the needs of the program. This position is not benefit eligible, but does include participation in our 401k plan with company match.
