Interviewer job, writing job, distance jobs: Atlanta

ReviewNet Corporation, www.reviewnet.net, is looking for several experienced IT professionals to write and/or review new IT skills tests for our online testing service and to perform technical interviews for our testing clients. Our tests are used exclusively by companies to evaluate IT hires, and are not sold to candidates. The authoring projects are all done via the internet using ReviewNet's online authoring system, and can be done off hours at your convenience. The interviewing opportunities are done as our clients request them, and typically require 1 to 2 hours to conduct.

We are also looking for individuals who have interest in and are capable of the “Lead Author” role, which essentially is the quarterback for upgrading of the tests and questions in a specific domain (such as Java 6 Enterprise Edition). The Lead Author naturally must have strong skills in their domain, and must also have significant experience interviewing and evaluating other IT professionals in the domain.

Principal reasons to be a Lead Author / Interviewer include the marketing exposure from ReviewNet of being identified as one of Lead Authors and being able to perform technical interviews for ReviewNet’s customers. Because Lead Authors develop familiarity with the ReviewNet system from writing and reviewing questions, they are also our preferred choice for interviewers.

The Lead Author reviews existing questions to see if they can be used, and expeditiously re-works the best questions to the current version of technology. The Lead Author also outlines the structure and topic organization of the upgraded tests in the domain. Sometimes no changes are required, other times minor changes are made. Questions that require extensive modifications are not updated. Several reviewers (other qualified IT professionals engaged by ReviewNet) provide their comments on the upgraded questions. The Lead Author also identifies “holes” in the content, and the need for additional questions. The Lead Author may write the questions or use questions proposed by other individuals qualified by ReviewNet to do so, such as Reviewer and previous authors. The Lead Author usually earns about $100 per week for the remotely performed work until the assigned project work is complete. The role of Lead Author may also rotate between individuals.

We will be developing a number of new and upgraded tests in 2011, and need authors in Java 6 Enterprise Edition as well as a few other disciplines:

Web Site Designer
Flash / PHP / Video / graphic web content developer
Unix System Administrators
Windows Server Administrators
ASP.NET Developers
Java Developers
Oracle DBAs
SQL Server DBAs
ETL Specialist (Informatica, AbInitio, Oracle, DataStage)

Other specialty skills are open to discussion.

To be considered for any of these roles, you must have 5 or more years hands-on technical experience and interviewing experience in the test subjects you author, review or interview.

Please respond with your resume and a cover letter identifying the skills areas in which you feel qualified to evaluate other candidates and/or write test questions.

Location: Telecommute
Compensation: Authors selected to write test content for ReviewNet typically earn $250 to $500 for a small project, or more for larger projects. Individuals selected for the test reviewer team typically earn $25 to $50 to provide comments on the test. Interviewers earn a fee determined commensurate with the customer requirement. Authors, reviewers, and interviewers have the option to be referenced in the ReviewNet Expert Gallery, and in other promotional exposure opportunities.
