We love our work and have a great time getting things done.

To Apply:
Please send a current resume and a cover letter. Currently, there is no single site providing a comprehensive collection of these laws and resources, and no forum for interested parties in remote areas of the developing world to exchange information and develop strategies to strengthen women’s property rights. The e-Library will address this gap by creating an online database of laws and secondary legal materials essential to addressing women’s land rights.

• Provide ongoing technical guidance to staff and Landesa system administrators on project requirements as needed;
• Keep abreast of technological and professional developments in order to advise the organization on potential new technology initiatives, e.g. Web 2.0, podcasts etc.

B. Information Services and Promotion

• Develop and deliver training, workshops and online tutorials for staff (both national and international) on e-Library resources;
• Collaborate with international organizations and libraries focused on women’s land rights.

C. Service Evaluation

• Ensure that the e-library meets the needs of development professionals, legal practitioners, and researchers through focus groups or other evaluative methods;
• Collate usage statistics on e-Library resources and their use on a regular basis, in order to inform subscription and promotional decisions as well as preparation of the organization’s annual report.
• Identify and lead the implementation of technical improvements and bug-fixes to e-library after launch.

Position Requirements:

• 2-5 years of progressively responsible experience in a dynamic information environment;
• Experience designing, developing, and managing web-based services to support learning;
• Experience working with programmers, database administrators, and system administrators to lead creation of a web-based service;
• Project management experience;
• Knowledge of legal, international, and foreign documentation systems;
• Knowledge of current information architecture and database design;
• Willingness to explore new technologies and practices;
• Excellent teaching and presentation skills;
• Team-oriented, self-starter focused on the customer;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Ability and desire to mentor, teach and develop less experienced colleagues and partners.

Technical designer job, drawing

Technical designer needed to take a prototype and produce a technical drawing; Produce spec or tech packs. These packets contain detailed information taken from the sketch of the designer, translated into measurements in order to ensure desired fit
The job of a technical designer is to take measurements and compile these packets of measurements to hand off to production, which will then proceed to correct the changes or go into production. The article that is being considered is in the luggage category, we are looking for people who have some experience in this area.
Please send examples of your work along with your resume. Be prepared to provide references upon request. RA428257@gmail.com

This is a small project, not a long term job.

SF part-time job, Librarian

Pratum Children's Library is looking for an assistant to Mr. Pratum.

Part-time job that could possibly turn into a full time job. There are three "parts" to this unique job. The first part is that you MUST be technologically savvy and knowledgeable as you will have to diagnose and solve numerous technological issues revolving around email, scanning, data entry, voice mail, web site management, on both Mac & PC platforms. If your tech experience was always supported by an IT guy you could call if you had problems then this job is not for you.

The second part is that you will be dealing with kids every afternoon as assistant to me in my library. You must LOVE kids. You must have experience with kids (more than just your own) and you must be interested in alternative and holistic pedagogies. We practice non-violent communication with kids and you will be trained in that. Simply put you never talk down to kids, never punish, and never reward. We are about having fun in the library, and for the right person this will be fun for you!

The third part, and the simplest part, is cataloging rare books. In this I will train you, book freaks encouraged to apply! My library is located in the middle of the Marin Art & Garden Center, and the position needs to be filled immediately.

What I need is somebody who has passion, real passion for life, not a distant, remote person. You must believe in the power of knowledge and wisdom. You must be very well organized, and lastly, you must be a "people person." You also should have a car as there are some days where you will have to work in my Oakland home-office, although carpooling is possible. All else is negotiable. Pay is $10.00 to start, if you show real aptitude I will give you a generous raise.

No phone calls please, send your resume and in your cover letter state in summary your experience with:

Technology
Children
People skills
If you have a car.

Please apply asap, I would like to hire somebody this week.

Thank you and best of luck in your search. Todd Pratum, Knowledge@Pratum.com.
