Audio Producer/ CopyWriter job (Full-Time & Part-Time

AM 1550 has been in the community for almost a decade. WOW! And, now AM 1550 Radio Sher-E-Punjab, South Asian NewsTalk has a job opening for you. We primarily cater to an Ethnic Punjabi speaking community, but do include Hindi, English and Urdu languages. Are you crazy about local radio and believe that it really is all about the listener? Here are the people we are looking for:

Audio Producer/CopyWriter (Full – Time & Part-Time Regular)
A person with a real passion for production and creative writing. The right person will be creating, developing and mixing numerous commercials and programs. Knowledge of Punjabi, Hindi or Urdu language is an asset.

Position Responsibilities:
Work in conjunction with the Sales staff (and copy) to create the best possible advertising for our clients while adhering to advertising standards
Ensure that all paid advertising, imaging and promotional material is correctly written/produced and running on air to satisfy broadcast orders and resolve any creative-related concerns that may arise
Record and coach clients and station hosts to ensure the best reads
Brainstorm advertising and promotion ideas based on clients /station goals
Amend/adjust creative procedure and guidelines
Work in conjunction with our Promotions Department to create excellent station imaging and station promos.
Voicing commercials or Voice-Tacking an on-air shift as required
Be able to handle creating 30 second spots in rapid turn around, while maintaining quality and integrity
Customer Service is your middle name
Promotion and remote duties as required
Cultivate positive relations with internal and external audiences

Required Skills and Qualifications:
College Diploma in Radio Advertising and/or Marketing preferred
Excellent Knowledge of Adobe Audition (or similar)
Able to work individually as well as part of a team, with minimal supervision
Attention to detail & accuracy a must
Must be extremely organized and work calmly under pressure
Strong multi-tasking & time management skills.
Experience with Rivendell Automation & Natural Log Traffic software is an asset
Strong Computer Skills
Self starter and motivator
Update Station's Twitter and Facebook with sports/news updates
Work well in a demanding environment
Other duties as assigned

- Must be available whenever there is a major event that requires all staff to attend
- A positive, friendly manner and customer service approach that will enable the successful candidate to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity
