Job Description and Duties:
Setup and administer software and systems for all Peak Web Hosting managed services and internal systems. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and maintaining Internet servers (web, mail, dns, database, etc.) in a production environment spread over several data centers in multiple cities. Occasional customer interaction will be required. The candidate must be eager to learn and be open-minded to new technologies and skill sets. A proven track record of technical team leadership is required. Prior management experience is a plus.

Must have a good working knowledge of Unix/Linux and be comfortable working in a shell environment. Must also have a good grasp of hardware and software concepts and be able to troubleshoot problems effectively. Scripting ability in Bash, Perl and/or PHP and knowledge of SQL is desirable. You will spend most of your time working on Debian GNU/Linux, RHEL/Centos and FreeBSD. Must have a good understanding of general system security issues, firewalls, and basic networking. Familiarity with the following tools is a recommended: Nagios, Munin and SNMP. Virtualization ( Xen, KVM, etc ), SLB's, iSCSI, SAN and Dell Server architecture a plus.

Position Location and Reporting:
This is a full time position and is primarily remote ( work from home ) in the East Coast Timezone. The candidate must be comfortable working in a remote environment and as part of a remote team. This a national position ( US only ) and the candidate will report to the Director of Operations.
