UX, Skins, Usability and Creativity
The Digital Marvels seeks an organized and responsible individual with good design sense and working knowledge of front-end web / mobile technologies in terms of creativity, design and front end coding. He or she has to be a talented, motivated UX Designer who is consistent, organized, practical and creative.
What does it take?
· Passion for designing useful, intuitive and commercially-viable online/mobile experiences. Monetization experiences are a plus.
· A deep understanding of user interface and interaction design planning, programming, and management.
· An ability to offer thought-leadership and dependable execution ability in a high-paced environment characterized by ongoing iteration and product pushes.
· Willingness to play a key role in product development and help shape the direction of the company’s products and services. We are looking for someone that can play a role in the sales process as well as initial planning. He or she will understand client objectives and how new features are intended to work.
· Ability to design, manage and document in such a way that enables team members to develop and implement design.
· An unbiased appreciation for the increasingly diverse online and mobile software platforms.
· We need a well-rounded individual with the ability to think strategically, act creatively, and do efficiently – someone who can excel during prototyping, implementation and testing phases. Its key to have a well-balanced time management and delivery skills that include:
- Strong attention to detail and a feeling of pride/ownership over the quality of our product. Be passionate.
- A strong sense of end to end ownership and drive to complete a project. Be practical.
What kind of experience are we looking for?
· A versatile UX Designer with:
- Significant experience in the following areas:
- Implementing all stages of: mockups, wireframes, storyboards and specifications, UI component libraries, interaction comps, user task flows, screen designs, etc. Always simple, clean and visual design sense.
- Translating user feedback or business requirements into visual user interfaces.
- User experience, user interface and interaction design planning, programming & management. Contribute of the sales process, development, maintenance, debugging and optimization.
- An understanding of online and mobile software development cycles. Real experience and a solid understanding of the intricacies in at least two of the following platforms: Apple, Android and Windows.
- Familiarity and willingness to roll up their sleeves in the following areas:
- Apple, Adobe, Microsoft Environment (scripting language, graphic design, illustration software, wireframes, prototyping, libraries, etc…)
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript. HTML5 is a plus.
- Contribution of scalable, production-ready code for user-facing features
- Development of reusable application components.
- Visualization of complex sets of data in ways that are both easy to comprehend and seamlessly integrated into a variety of existing experiences
- Strong understanding of typography, color, usability and other design principles. Understanding and enthusiasm for the latest in web-based design and technologies.
- Experience in videogames, digital billboards, open source contributions, etc…
What else?
· BS or MS degree in one of the following fields or comparable hands-on experience: graphic design, architecture, technology, computer science, website development, HCI or a related field. We are unbiased between book smarts vs. code smarts. We want the best fit, not the best brand.
