Tigard writing job, Flexible hours, Script writer, Editor, Copywriter, Commentator

Tigard writing job, Copywriter, Flexible hours, Script writer, Editor, Blogger, Commentator

We're looking for one person with a wide range of skills who can provide content for a variety of client communications, both online, through video and in print. You could be flexible as to your hours, and often work from home if that is conducive for your creative juices.

We are a locally-owned investment advisor, actuary and recordkeeping firm providing a wide range of services to private investors, institutions and retirement plan sponsors.

Do send us your resume. However, we need to evaluate your skills. Examples of your writing would help. Here's a suggestion that would get our attention: Browse to MyPlanAccount.com. Look at the video titled Glide Path. If you had written that video's script from scratch, what would you have done different, if anything? Would you have directed our videographer to have done something else or in addition to what you see there?

Writing such scripts, and interacting with our design and technology staff, would be a big part of your job. We plan to produce another 50 such videos in the coming year. We'd also like to re-write the content of our website. Revise our brochures. Completely redo our 401(k) enrollment kits.

And please do not call. You could be Ernest Hemingway, but a phone call to us will eliminate you from consideration. Remember, we're looking for someone who knows how to write, not dial a phone.

Home Host job, summer job, Brooklyn/ NYC/ Long Island

Youth Educational Programs, a non-profit English Summer Camp, is searching for kind, outgoing families or couples who would like to host a high school student from Northern Italy for 12 days this August. This is the easiest version of hosting and provides memories that last a lifetime.

Dates: August 6-18 (oh yes, short & sweet)

Schedule:
We'll have the students busy from 8:00am to 6:30pm everyday with English classes at St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights and tourism around the city. Families will have plenty of time without the students home, but evenings to do something fun together, share stories, culture, and friendship.

What families need to provide:
- A bed or futon for the student(s) to sleep on
- Dinner and breakfast
- English conversation
- One day of planned activity with your family on "Host Family Day" (Saturday, August 13th)

Who are these students?:
They are all wonderful students (ages 15-18) who are traveling with their English teachers from Northern Italy (near Parma & Bologna). They are coming to practice their English and do tourism in New York City. They are kind and outgoing and oh-so excited to come to NYC! We have photos and letters from all of them so you can pick who will be staying with you and correspond with them before they arrive. Some students are best friends and want to stay together. The pairs can share a queen bed.

Transportation: We do the transportation for you! We'll be picking them up from your house in the morning & dropping them off again in the evening.

Compensation: We charged each student $200 for host family food expenses, so that will go straight to the hosts for the cost of food, extra water & electricity used, and host family day expenses. If you host 2 students, you will receive $400 to cover the costs.

All in all, this should be a very fun experience for all those involved. More info can be found at our website at http://www.yepcamps.com/HOST-FAMILIES.html. Click to see the calendar to see the students' itinerary. Pass the opportunity along to friends who may be interested. Enjoy the chance to travel without leaving your home and the perfect way to expose your kids to another culture.

If you're interested, please contact Lauren LaForge at 646-200-5924. The summer is right around the corner. Don't let this cool opportunity pass you by. Grazie!

SFO odd jobs, MEN needed for VIDEO job, part-time job

International design firm, IDEO is seeking MEN (age 18-29) for paid video interview clips which will be featured on BEDSIDER.ORG. All interviews will be video-taped in your home and take about 2 hours of your time. Payment is $200. We'll be meeting people in the BAY AREA on May 17th-26th.

IDEO is proud to be working with Bedsider which is a free support network for birth control operated by The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. Launched in beta form in 2010, our goal is to help women and men find the method of birth control that's right for them and learn how to use it consistently and effectively. We put medical information in plain language, offer helpful advice on choosing a method, and even feature a text message reminder service to help women remember when to take their birth control, pick up their prescription, or visit their doctor. The site itself is very sex-positive, and totally non-judgmental.

Right now, about half of all pregnancies in the United States are unplanned. That sounds like a lot to us. We hope that Bedsider will be a useful tool for women and men to learn about their birth control options, better manage their birth control, and in the process avoid getting pregnant until they're ready.

IDEO would like to interview and videotape MEN (Age 18-29) who are currently using the following methods with their partner for at least one year:
Cervical Cap
Emergency Contraception (you have used this at least once)
IUD
